For SoLee

Snake Basics :-

---------------1.How do I get there?---------------

Can I take the snake off the break? If the snake is make able on the break then you need to find the best running lanes. Try to block the possible laners with bunkers to find the highest % route to the snake. What I mean by highest percentage is if the snake is really easy to lane then you might have a 50% chance in making it. Also make sure you slide before you get into the snake that will make it harder for the laner to shoot you. Walk your running multiple times so you can instinctively make the run. Be sure you know where the out of bounds so you don’t over slide.

If the percentage is to low to make, can I fill the snake easily? If you can’t make the snake on the break then you need to find a way to bump to the snake. You need to work with your back and mid guys so they can coordinate you into the bunker. Remember it’s YOUR responsibility to work with your teammates in order to make the move.

----------------2.What do I do once I get there?.---------------

First thing is find the safest part of the snake to live in. You want to make sure none of the back guys can drop balls down on you. If possible try to live in a part of the snake where your back or mid guy can protect you from getting bunkered.

Find all your pop up shots to shoot guys cross field and in the middle. You can this by getting down into the snake and using “markers” that you can see while you’re in the snake. Use trees, netting poles and banners to setup your marker spots. This useful in getting up and down quick to get one ball off.

If the snake is hot, then get him out of there!! I can’t stress this enough, what I teach my guys is if someone is in your HOUSE (i.e. snake) he shouldn’t be there so you need to go get him! Off course if the snake is 100 ft long then this probably doesn’t apply. If the snake has lots of kill shots then you want to make sure and punish the guy that’s in your house. Work with you back and mid guys to make sure they help you out.

If the other team (multiple players) is shooting at you, then go to sleep. This will take the guns off of your other players and enable them to try and make something happen. Don’t get crazy and get shot stupid. That’s the worst! If you get board post on there back guy that’s at the end of the field and try to catch him slipping.

---------------Do’s.---------------

Mark all your easy kill shots with “markers”.

Find the best running lane to the snake.

Coordinate with you other teammates to make the move or protect you.

Don’t let anyone live in YOUR HOUSE.

Crawl low.

---------------Don’ts.---------------

Get shot stupid overly gun fight, if you don’t get them in the first or second shot look for some one else.

Have your butt crack hanging out when you crawl down the show tape.

Come over the top in the same spot.

Let another player live in YOUR HOUSE

"Oh, Brunei!"

I'd like to begin this post by saying today has been a good day for me, and also for Team Payne of course, looking into everything paintball from my drive from Cyberjaya to what I call Damansara Paintball Ave., all the way back to HQ and burning the midnight oil with my trusty laptop I call Samaire (Pronounced Sah-mee-rah), named after Samaire Armstrong, that hot little chick from The O.C., Dirty Sexy Money, and Entourage.

Anyways, for the guys who I've never met, you may realize by now, aku suka cakap banyak, but if it helps, I'm just getting warmed up before getting down to the bizzznessss. For Faisal (Jijoy) and Sulhi, who have probably scrolled down tarus to look at the pictures, make sure you READ THE IMPORTANT PARTS AS WELL. By the way, this post will be in the form of narration and storytelling by yours truly.

Thank you.

Okay, first of all, I dropped down to Napshot Paintball with Mr. Raekwon just to compare equipment and marker prices from ansgear.com for dye and proto stuff, since I shall be planning to makan rumput when I splurge my next allowance in equipment for the upcoming ISSC; we'll be playing for exposure right? Might as well look good for the pictures. It was supposed to be a quick get-in, get-out procedure. But as luck would have it, Allan (who I thought was a sales assistant at the time) came up to me and asked if I needed any help. I mentioned to him that I was just browsing through products and if it was okay for me to take pictures, and I added that me and my team mates (kamu!) would be interested in looking at gear for the upcoming tournament we'll be participating in in May. As soon as I mentioned that we were form Brunei, he was all smiles and said,

"Oh, Brunei!"

"We haven't seen you guys in ages," said Allan. "That's awesome, we've been waiting to see you guys out".

This came as a nice surprise for me, since my visit last week was met with the workers there not giving me face and that actually made me bias to the accommodation SPA gave me. Anyway, he brought me to the counter and we sat down and asked what's been going on in the whole Brunei paintball scene. I told him how it's making a comeback, seeing how we've been quite active in a way comparing with the dead-zone paintball's had since Black September '07. Aside from that, the Bruneian produced MadPaintball UK tournament made waves all the way here, and it came to no surprise to Allan. We had to move to a corner spot soon after this big dude came and sat next to us, blaring loudly on his phone and we continued discussing major plans for paintball in Brunei and our team's plans in the next couple of months.

'Allan' turned out to be Mr. Allan Phang; International Liaison of PALS - Paintball Asia League Series. FYI, PALS is sanctioned by The United Paintball Federation (UPBF), Asia Pacific Paintball Federation (APPBF), Paintball Sports Promotion (PSP) and the Millenium. In a nutshell, this guy's a member of the Big Guns, in terms of international paintball admin of course. Also, they're the guys in charge of bringing in Paintball World Cup Asia in November (I'm confident Al-Kapitan will be looking into that too?)

Our region's Big Gun - Holds Malaysia, India, Philippines, Myanmar, Iran,
Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore and Japan Paintball Associations.

Allan then shouts out to the big guy who was blaring on the phone, "Paul! Team from Brunei!".

"Oh! Brunei!!"

So 'Paul' (who's off the phone by now), turns out to be Paul Lam, FOUNDER of PALS. Bam. He repeats whatever Allan mentioned about how Brunei's been away from the paintball circuit for ages, and it's about high-time we brought in some Brunei blood in the tournaments. He mentioned loads on his meetings with Dr. Aamton, 'The Smoking Doctor', Black September '07 and all, and he's happy Team Payne's gotten the ball rolling again with this Bruneian team getting active with the sport.

So that was the introductory part of my first 10 minutes stepping into Napshot Paintball. Next, Simon the vendor walks towards me and introduces himself. After a bit of chit-chat, he offered us a team package (sort of like a sponsorship deal if you think about it, seeing how much of a steal it is. Please check your facebook inbox if you haven't already!) with the '09 Proto line.

Aside from the great discount we got from Napshot Paintball, next I'd like to talk about our exposure. As we all know, we will be gearing up for the ISSC in May, it's good to see that the rest of the team has been catching up with training in Miri the past couple of weeks (and yes, I'd like to sit in for training when I head back in April, thank you very much!), Allan actually brought up TWO outlets we may be able to get our hands on.

To keep our experience up, there's the MPOC - the Malaysian Paintball Official Circuit held by PALS (and no, not the Malaysian Palm Oil Council if you tried googling it up).

The MPOC has 5 Legs, stretching from January to October. It's in a league format, where points are accumulated in all games played by the team. Awesome part is, in terms of exposure and our time and financial considerations, according to Allan we will be able to register in any of the Legs mentioned in the dates. BUT, the Best part? Paul told me that if we can show proof of air tickets of at least 5 team members, we will not have to pay for registration and will be given 3 free paintball boxes. That's right, you'd only have to pay for flight tickets and food since you'll be free to stay over at my place. And of course, *cough* a carton of ciggies *cough*. =D

Aside from that, there's also the Cyberjaya Paintball Championship League, where the format's the same, but on a slightly different time frame. They didn't mention the free registration though!

That's pretty much the awesome part of the paintball trip I did today, went to SPA, but then prices were still quite high and for us noobs, wasn't really much of a visit. It was busy since there were a lot of customers. Any other product price we can discuss on our FB Inbox ayte.

That's pretty much it this time, will update again soon hopefully. Currently waiting for further correspondence and final confirmation on info given by Allan. In the meantime, I hope to hear from you lot back at home! Oh, watched Green Zone last night, I recommend to those of you still clinging onto Modern Warfare 2. heheh. Lastly, I'd like to mention to the rest of us, I'm guessing PALS and the other opposing teams will be looking out for us once we all actually meet up here, so there's a lot of hope and expectations on us (cue for Band Of Brothers theme), InsyaAllah we'll be able to do well, and I was wondering what the team would think of a bit of exposure to the public of our antics on tourney day? Was thinking maybe Borneo Bulletin and Brunei Times? Will discuss!

"Oh, Brunei!"

Cheerio,
Nappyboy.

1st Paintball Store Recce Mission (Revised)

Greetings from Cyberjaya!

As I was saying, Napshot Paintball had a lot more high-end gear, majoring more in Dye products including Proto and DM stuff. I'll show you in the photos below.

Napshot Paintball (Bottom Left: Mr. Raekwon leading the mission)

Main entrance; Napshot Paintball (Aside from Dye Products, they specialise a lot in
GI MilSim and Tippman equipment)

Dye Ironmen Jersey! Heyyaaa.

Team Dynasty Jersey alongside a Ref Uniform from NPL

Empire Full Package

They've also got a good selection of Goggle Systems. Not surprisingly,
there's a wide range of Dye masks, alongside the I4s.

Next stop was Skirmish Paintball Asia. In my mind, with Napshot Paintball being impressive in terms of their selection, I wouldn't have thought Skirmish could've competed, even with Napshot having a more impressive website. Boy, was I wrong.

Main Entrance of SPA.

The front door. Again, Mr. Raekwon leading the pack

Entering SPA; told you it had a huge selection.

2nd floor, loads of examples. And a naked black guy, 3rd from left.

Eclipse corner.

Protective gear and harnesses.

Dye sample jerseys. In Blue: Team Dynasty's. (Sorry, didn't know
the picture was unclear until I checked this morning)

Also, both Napshot and Skirmish PA offers technical support for customisation and repair of markers, also for special orders for equipment (advance notification of course). Like I mentioned, SPA offers technical courses, marhsalling and paintball clinics for those interested.

So there're my two reviews for this week. We'll see if I can make one more next week. I've got packed classes from Monday-Wednesday, 0900hrs-1800hrs. Aside from that, there's my long weekend! Will continue with the training and see if I can get into a few clinics; and I'll post up anything new I encounter to keep you guys updated. There's also a NB Donation Drive so I can save up a couple of dollars for the upcoming tourney. Haha hope you guys are well, I'll post up the websites for the two stores at the end of this bloggpost.

Oh, of course we bought merchandise to keep our spirits up after the drive to Damansara.

My Planet Eclipse Tee. *wink*

First Paintball Store Recce Mission. (Preview)

Salam guys, I've just got access to the blog and since I wasn't really prepared for a blog post this evening, I decided to just drop a Hello and let you guys know that I dropped by two paintball stores this afternoon in Damansara; Skirmish Paintball Asia and Napshot Paintball.

For those of you who have not made it this way for paintball shopping, in a nutshell;

  • Napshot Paintball - High-end paintball equipment; preferably Dye & Smart Parts products. Also majoring in Mil-Sim stuff.
  • Skirmish Paintball Asia - More affordable (in a sense) "low-end" paintball products, and mostly Eclipse. Official sponsors of Team Raskal and other local teams (quite renowned).

SPA (Not "Sultan-Punya-Aing") also offers technical courses and marshalling courses for those who are interested. That will be my next little activity, will inform those who'd like to join me! Aside from that, there are around 4 more stores around the Selangor area I may be able to visit. Will continue updating InsyaAllah, including this post. There's also the Malaysian Paintball Academy where clinics are held, will post that up too.

Anyways, hope to hear from you guys soon, I'm gearing up with PT and general paintball theory before the tourney, waheyy!! And yes Raven, I am saving up money so i can load up on my gear and actually train for ISSC, no worries. Haha, Project Mulah Abang has commenced.

May my PaintBalls be with you,

Much Love, Nappyboy.
